As with all weddings, your dress takes centre stage as it presents you in the best light. This is when all your fairy tale dreams finally come true. You wear a beautiful bridal gown, meet your prince charming, and live happily ever after. Whether custom-made or store-bought, your bridal outfit should capture your ethereal beauty as you walk down the aisle.
However, choosing the perfect gown takes more than a few trips to the seamstress or dress shop. Ensuring that you look great in it (especially if it’s form-fitting!) should also be on your wedding checklist. Read on as we tackle the top fitness tips to help you become even more dazzling on your big day.
Don’t fall for fad diets.
Fad diets, a.k.a. crash diets, promise fast weight loss, but it’s not safe nor sustainable. These diets are notorious for an extreme caloric deficit, food restrictions, and intense workouts. While these can bring you closer to pre-wedding fitness goals, they will do you more harm in the long run. These crash dieting methods can disrupt metabolism, affect blood pressure, and cause nutritional deficiencies. Also, you risk gaining more weight than you lost once you stop dieting.

Eat healthier.
Weight loss is not about limiting your food; it focuses more on shifting your diet to healthier options. Instead of carbohydrates, sugar, and processed foods, eat more fibre and protein. Fibre improves digestion and metabolism and helps get rid of toxins in the body. Protein, on the other hand, helps build muscle mass and keeps you full for longer. Try to incorporate lean meat, fish, nuts, chia seeds, whole wheat, and greens into your every meal.
It also helps to opt for healthy or “good” fats instead of saturated and trans fat. They lower your risk of getting diseases and help you lose weight. Foods such as avocados, vegetable oil, seeds, and fatty fish (like tuna and salmon) are high in healthy fats.
Move your body.
We know how hectic wedding preparations can be, and the thought of squeezing in an exercise is a bit ambitious. But trust us, it’s better than having to literally squeeze your way into your wedding dress! You can do at least 30 minutes of yoga, walking, or running daily to keep your body active. YouTube or TikTok also offer a wide array of home workouts you can follow if you’re not a gym person. Better yet, you can sign up for group exercises with your bridesmaids for an excellent bonding opportunity!
Small, frequent meals are better than binge eating.
The days and weeks leading up to your wedding are the busiest, forcing you to skip meals. Don’t do this! Skipping meals will only encourage binge eating and cause weight gain. Make sure to keep healthy, filling snacks in your car or purse, especially if you have a full day ahead. Eating small, frequent meals throughout the day also helps curb unnecessary cravings and stabilise your metabolism.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
Staying hydrated ensures that your organs function well, so you have enough stamina to last through your wedding. (P.S. This is why your skin looks effortlessly glowing when you are well-hydrated!) Aside from that, water helps you lose weight by making you feel full faster. Remember to drink at least eight glasses of water a day, and if you want a bit of flavour to plain H2O, you can infuse it with berries or lemons!
Consider Muscle Sculpting
Have you heard of Magnetic Muscle Sculpting? This amazing new technology uses the latest Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) to improve the tone of treated muscles. Widely used for treating neuropathic diseases and muscle rehabilitation, FMS-induced muscle stimulation can be used for preventing muscle atrophy while simultaneously increasing blood circulation. In an aesthetic setting, Functional Magnetic Stimulation is used to sculpt and define abdominal muscles and tone up the glutes, and Kegel muscles.
