If anyone ever took a picture of the amount of their hair pooling in the toilet drain a decade ago as compared to the current amount of hair now, there might inevitably be a significant increase in volume, present day.

While all of us would wish the volume stayed in in the hair on our scalp, the loss of hair over time is almost always a certain occurrence. While there are inevitable circumstances like time and natural aging are beyond our control, there are other factors that are within our control.

The problem? Most of us don’t even know these factors can contribute to the clogging of your toilet drain… until now that is.

Hot, Hot Heat

We are all no strangers to the heat here in sunny Singapore, although we might wish we were if we only knew what the heat was doing to our hair.

The heat of the Sun that is beating down constantly on our scalps can trigger a process called Telogen Effluvium, a process where your scalp gets coerced by the heat to enter ‘hibernation’ mode, resulting in hair loss stemming from the top of your scalp.

Now that this fact has come to light, all of us are suddenly susceptible to hair loss. If you do not want to take any chances, it is highly recommended to add one more step to your shampoo-and-conditioner routine, by introducing a Hair Recovery Strengthening and Rejuvenating Serum into your scalp after your shower.

‘A’ and ‘D’eficiency

Another silent killer that might be causing you to lose your hair at an accelerated rate maybe be a deficiency in a couple of vitamin groups you never knew you needed more of.

If you feel like you’re losing more hair than you’re comfortable with, increase your intake of salmon, cod liver oil, cheese, or eggs… or make yourself a sumptuous combo of melted cheese and salmon with a side of scrambled/poached eggs for that dose of Vitamins A and D you need.

Birth Control

Women are more open to the concept of birth control these days, but are unaware of the full list of side-effects that the consumption of oral contraceptives can bring about… including the loss of hair.

Once again, side effects like breakouts and pigmentation have been very well-documented amongst the contraceptive-consuming community, but the side effect of hair loss has been greatly downplayed or even ignored.

Oral contraceptives can be a reason for hair loss in women who are predisposed to hormonally related hair loss, because these pills alter a woman’s hormones, causing an imbalance that causes hair loss.

If you’re on the pill, it is highly recommended that you prevent or halt the likelihood of hair loss by undergoing weekly or bi-weekly sessions of nutrient-loaded Revitascalp sessions, to counter the hormonal imbalance of these pills.

These little-known factors may just explain why your crowning glory is frowning… and even if it’s not, prevention is way better than cure.
