Valentine’s Day is just round the corner and are you still “Mr. Single” for the longest time when you’re all ready to get hitched and settle down? We all have a mental checklist when it comes to dating Mr. Right, some longer than others. Me and my girlfriends always talk about what’s important in a guy, and what we look for in a man, and what do we judge first when we see a guy. While some have their own pet peeves, a number of these are universal deal-breakers that will send any sane woman running for the hills as fast as her Louboutins can carry!

Poor hygiene and repulsive smell

I think on both parts, this is right up there on our list. Personal hygiene is very important for your own good and not just for scoring phone numbers at the bar. Bad breath and food stuck between the teeth are major turn offs, not to mention about BO aka body odour, especially if you can catch a whiff of it miles away!

Sweat alone is not smelly but when the bacteria living on the skin works on it, sweat is broken down into aromatic fatty acids which are anything but ‘aromatic’; giving rise to the noxious smell of BO. If antiperspirants are no longer an effective solution, opt for Botox microinjections to keep you dry and ‘BO-less’. Yes, you heard me right the first time. Besides its primary use as a wrinkle-eraser to tackle pesky crow’s feet and deeply etched forehead lines, itis FDA-approved and scientifically proven as an effective way to stop excessive sweating, otherwise known as Botox for Hyperhidrosis. Almost all patients notice decreased sweating in less than a week and often wish that they had sought this treatment option much earlier to avoid those years of social embarrassment and teasing they had to put up with. Results which are often hailed as ‘life-changing’, typically last for 6 to 8 months after a single session of treatment, and can be safely repeated thereafter for regular maintenance of sweat and odour-free days especially during the warmer months of the year.

Slave to your abs

We like men who engage in fitness and sports, but when they become obsessed with shirtless gym selfies, pulling up their shirts to check out their 6 packs at every given opportunity, pecs and abs ceased to be attractive. For us to take a second look and not across as superficial or worse, disillusioned, quit those body flaunting shots on online dating sites and social media. If you really want to show the ladies you can be committed to a grueling routine, go do something that requires wearing a shirt, like having a job or doing community service…. that wasn’t court mandated.

Hair in all the wrong places

Many women dig stubbles and even full on beards, some find hairy chests extremely attractive and most remained largely unfazed by tufty knuckles, furry forearms or gorilla-like legs. But as far as any amount of back hair is concerned, it’s a definite thumbs down and gets our backs up without fail. Imagine how when things start to heat up, and our well-manicured nails get caught in that unkempt jungle out there! Furthermore, hair on your back can lead to other skin woes such as clogged pores and back acne. To stave off these skin problems which can be recurring and recalcitrant to treatment, it is best to keep the back hairless, clean and smooth.

Shaving and waxing are available epilation options but the downside is that they have to be repeated for all eternity as the hair regrows thicker and denser in a few weeks. And we haven’t even broach upon the subject of ingrown hairs! The long term solution recommended universally is with medical lasers, with Soprano LICE Permanent Laser Hair Removal by far one of the safest and most effective way to permanently reduce repulsive-looking back fuzz. The great thing is that as hair growth is permanently reduced, we no longer

have to worry about hair removal options and their adverse effects, talk about low maintenance and bang for the buck!

Unnatural attempts to hide baldness

We totally understand that when men start to lose their hair, the experience can be nothing short of devastating as traditionally, we have come to associate a full head of hair with strength, youth and virility. You can choose to embrace your male pattern baldness or opt for ways to halt or correct it, but please don’t make unnatural attempts to hide a thinning scalp of receding hairline. Meticulously executed comb overs, weird beaver-looking toupees and scalp tattoos simply do not make the cut as these unnatural looking attempts tend to draw more attention rather than camouflage your alopecia. Gaining momentum as an effective modality to tackle of hair loss is laser therapy, with the FDA-approved Revage 670 Laser widely recognized as the gold standard that provides a viable non-surgical option to tackle hair loss. Revage works by thickening fine, miniaturized hair often seen in male pattern baldness, with studies research documenting an 85% success rate in halting hair loss, and an almost 40% of subjects studied reporting an increased in fullness or density.

Revage can be performed as a standalone treatment or as part of the Keramax Scalp Program paired with Revitascalp, a structural approach to treating hair loss in a comprehensive manner specially designed by the panel of medical experts from the SW1 Clinic.

“With its Rotational PhotoTherapy (RPT) system, Revage 670 maximizes stimulation of each hair follicle at a much higher level, setting its reliability and efficacy way above that of traditional hand-held lasers of lesser make.” affirms Dr. Kenneth Lee, medical director of the SW1 Clinic (formerly from The Sloane Clinic). “Apart from male pattern baldness, it is highly suitable for women with diffuse thinning or general weakening; equally effective as a preventive measure to maintain lushnessand hair density.”
